Over a year and a half ago I came acrossed a user of the popular
web video sharing site called you-tube that was Posting
video's alleging that the Pendleton Round Up was knowingly
committing crimes of animal abuse during its historic annual celebration.
While I fully back any American's right to freedom of
speech, I avidly support my home town of Pendleton Oregon.
I grew up attending the Round up, watching the Rodeo from the stands,
and never have I ever seen abuse in this historic event.
I began what I call a full frontal defense of the wonderful
city I learned so very much from.
The Pendleton Round up started in 1910,
It has been awarded as the best western event in 2010 and 2011.
The city itself was awarded as the Best place to raise a family
in the state of Oregon.
A common mistake people make when they post these video's
is that the logo and the slogan are both trademarked.
They belong to the Pendleton Round up Assn.
In these video's Shark founder Steve Hindi accuses
a catholic hospital of raising their prices for services just
to support the abuse of these animals at the round-up.
Upon reading this I contacted this hospital to find out
they were completely un aware of the video or the allegation.
Speaking to their director I became aware by hearing his voice that
he was the announcer at the round-up. He has been the announcer
for over 25 years.
This blog is my way of bringing awareness to the
fact that for several years the user has continued to use the
trademarked logo and slogan while getting hard-working
American’s to pay him donations. Mr Hindi doesn't
post all the comments on the videos so on posts here I will post them.
At several comments Mr. Hindi has allowed users to threaten me and other
defenders of the Pendleton Round Up. He also resorts to
verbally abusing or “ Cyber Bullying” when valid points are made.
I realize that there are causes that deserve full attention.
But as I politely pointed out to Mr. Hindi Pendleton Oregon
is a city of just under 17,000 People. It is a small
hard-working type of city. The people whom
live there are very proud of the Round up.
Mr. Hindi has made no attempts to contact The Pendleton
Round up Assn. Or the City of Pendleton at all.
As I have learned in recent years good journalism of this sort
usually has no problem asking for a statement from the person's they
are making the allegations against.
Mr. Hindi has also resorted to slandering the Oregon Air National Guard
as “ Animal Abusers” for conducting a fly over the round-up grounds.
I find it very disturbing that Our very troops whom put their lives on the
line to defend our rights are being labeled, tried and convicted before.
Even getting to face their accusers. I find it deeply
disturbing that Mr. Hindi would rather a human die before an animal.
When brought to his attention that he was illegally using the trademarked
slogan and logo's, He brought to my attention that
the ACLU would defend him and his right to do so,
as a writer I am a member of the ACLU, so I called them.
There stance is they defended him once on a legal matter,
that they do not advocate for his slandering, defamation of character and
his threats or abuse.
When did we as American's throw out the bill of rights?
Well hopefully someday soon I can get you-tube to pull his channel...
until then I will never stop or back down....
